I was really nervous about this procedure. I always get really anxious for these things. I had another appointment a week ago & really got anxious but in the end I was OK. So I was surprised that I wasn't terribly anxious. The check in was OK. They called me in after not too long. I had papers to fill which took time & might have delayed me. And it's really confusing to get into the right parking lot. We kept going in circles & it has happened in the past in that section. I think the signs should be better indicated. I believe it was Stacey who mostly looked after me. I met the male nurse. And I spoke with the anesthesiologist as well to discuss my reactions of the past. But there is no way I will not take something at home 1st to calm my nerves. Everyone was pleasant. The wait was a bit long & I started getting anxious. But then they took me in. My dr waved which I was glad. The nurse had put in my IV attachment beforehand. I told her not to kill me & it was OK. They told me to turn on my side. Usually they worn you or tell you to count but nothing. Before I knew it I was back & glad it was over. My throat was sore which I was worked about. It's endoscopy. My stomach was slightly queezy. But the worst part was my mouth. It was like a whole circle being frozen like I had been to the dentist. I asked another nurse & she said it's probably the guard. They put something so the mouth stays open I imagine. Stacey said they'd offer a drink. My mouth was extremely dry. I wasn't offered so I had to ask & the nurse gave me a small cup. I didn't realize I had all this jewelery to put back on which took time. Glad my hubby was there. He said the dr said I had a small ulcer so I'm abit concerned. So I slowly got dressed. Was feeling wousy. In general people were pleasant. But you're an assembly line & don't feel human. My husband was rushing me. The nurse said it was OK. My time is mine. So we left & got a bite & coffee. It was extremely hard to chew & swallow. Hard to walk as well. The coffee helped abit. Went straight home to bed. Hadn't slept much. I woke up disoriented & still abit off balance. I ate & stayed up. Today is better. I would say it's a good center & they know what they're doing. I have another procedure end of month. I was disappointed as people post they get a follow up call. I didn't get any.
My doctor told me that I needed to go to Ocean Springs surgical center for a procedure. And as I got there was 6:30 in the morning, the team were waiting for me. I thank God for the ocean spring, surgical team and my doctor they were outstanding, kind, spoken, protective of our personal belongings. They went above and beyond, and I thank ocean spring surgical center and the team for my Dr. thank you, Dr. Spencer, you're awesome. I'd love you guys.
Second time through today. Just wanted to make the rounds and give these folks the props they deserve. My GI Doctor Shiao and the rest of my care team here really listen, take care of you, and make the experience as good as it can be. We are lucky to have fellow humans that wish well on others enough to be there for us to do these things. Thank you so much!
